Awesome Athlete

My husband is an awesome athlete. I love watching him play and kick some serious butt. I love that he still stays active with two softball and one indoor football leagues each year.

On Monday nights in the summer and fall, Katie & Sarah Land and I get to watch our men play while we catch up. I just had to share Mike in action!

First, here's how much Sarah loves softball!

Please pray...

Please pray for friends of the Harberts, Andy and Cari. Their 8 month old daughter died suddenly today after a bout with roseolla and a cold or infection. Please pray for them to have peace and comfort during this time and for any of their friends who are believers to encourage them and uphold them during this time.

Bow Crazy!

Last weekend, Katie and I got some great girl time in while our men golfed. We had a date to make bows! This is the starting point of what I plan to be a successful business for us. But, our baby steps began with some adorable bows. Plus, we had the most beautiful baby model to show them off for us, which never hurts a business. (If you see something you like or have a need for precious little hair bows, let me know!!)

Day with the Mayers

I'm catching up a bit! Last week I was out of commission thanks to our National Sales Meeting and a surprise weekend, which I'll tell you about later.

Two weekends ago, we got to spend the day with some of our favorite people, the Mayers! We started the day by watching Colby's little league football game. On our way out, we happened to see Jeff Saturday there watching his son play, too. So cool! Then the guys went golfing, while we hung out at home. That afternoon, there was some touch football and pick up baseball going on while Jen, Averi and I hung out.
Averi and Colby seem to be Mike's biggest fans. While Colby and Mike were on the same team in touch football, Averi would chase Mike around the yard just yelling his name.
We got to see how grown up Averi is at almost two years old!! My favorite part was her trying to converse. She'd come up as serious as can be and say "Muh muh muh muh muh muh football game!" So cute.

After dinner and more time with the family, the babysitter showed up so the adults could go out. We had fun getting some grown up time in with Jen & Kev along with a few friendly games of pool. Here are fun pictures, thanks to Jennifer, of our night!

Thoughts of the night

Two thoughts for you tonight:

1. Michael Phelps is hosting Saturday Night Live tomorrow night. Gonna DVR that one!!

2. My husband is hilarious. Earlier as we were making lasagna for dinner, and I said "Oh yeah, I forgot I got the stuff to make jalapeno poppers on the grill tonight." Mike replies, "Just because you have the stuff to be a prostitue doesn't mean you need to be one."

The Mack house is a fun place to be......

He did it again!

I bought fresh blueberries last week thinking they'd be great for blueberry pancakes, or whatever else we were hungry for while we were home over Labor Day weekend. It was a typical Saturday stay-at-home morning, if there is such a thing for us. Mike got up and headed downstairs with a hungry belly and a mission to feed us. I stayed upstairs taking care of laundry and random cleaning. By the time I got downstairs, the kitchen was erupting with stuff. Everywhere.

That stuff ended up being the makings of CREPES!

And before I go any farther I have to quote it:

Jean Girard: I will let you go, Ricky. But first, I want you to say..."I... love... crepes."

Cal Naughton, Jr.: Don't you say it, Ricky. These colors don't run.

Ricky Bobby: I'm not gonna say it.

.........

Cal Naughton, Jr.: You know, just to put this in there, I had a whole mess of crepes this morning. They're just like pancakes, maybe even better.

Ricky Bobby: Wait, are they the really thin pancakes?

Jean Girard: Yes they are. They are the really thin pancakes. It's just a French word for them. Ricky Bobby: Oh, my god, I love those.

Okay now that that's done. I have to say "Oh, my gosh, I love those!" Mike made delicious thin pancakes for us. He experimented with fresh blueberries and berry cream cheese as well as frozen fruits and fresh blueberries. All sprinkled with powdered sugar. He is my all-time favorite!!

New home for the Campbells

Dad and Mom Campbell have been going through the fun/difficult/exciting/stressful experience of building a new home. They've lived in our house for 22 years, and now that the nest is empty, they are flying the coop!

Every time we visit them, we take a tour of the house. It's been so cool to watch its transformation, and they are now in the last WEEK of production. Next Friday is the day they close on the new mortgage. So these photos from last week are near-finish of the house...

View from the driveway
View from the pantry into the kitchen and great room on the first floor.

View of the kitchen range and backsplash. I LOVE the glass tiles!

View from dining area of the kitchen bar and cool lights.
Abby and Mike standing in dad's cedar-paneled cigar room, complete with its own air filtering system.

View of lower level bar area.

This photo is from our wedding. I had a vendor photoshop it down to the bottles and then print it on canvas and wrap it around a wooden frame. It's PERFECT for the bar. And brings wonderful memories!

View of kitchen ceiling for the simple fact that they have way too many lights. We're thinking disco party!

View from the wooded back yard!

View from the upper level to the "pool."

Kids in the pool!
If you're interested, their house will be on a home tour on October 11... Mike and I are "security" that day. Come see us and the beautiful Campbell Casa!
