Coupon Mom!

I love to shop! Even more, I love to sale shop!! I called Mike the other day on my lunch break because I had just found a STEAL at Target: a Christmas bib clearanced for $0.30 AND ridiculously awesome "bling" pacifiers clearanced 2 for $1.00. Yes, those bargains make my day.
So you shouldn't be surprised to know that my new favorite thing is a website that Katie led me on to: http://www.blogger.com/www.couponmom.com. Not only does CouponMom organize all of the coupons that appear in your local Sunday paper (no matter where you live) so you can plan your grocery trips simply, it also coordinates those with your local grocery (mainly Kroger in Indiana) to let you know what items are on sale. Then it even shows you where your coupons can apply to the promos to save big money!

We've been debating about ordering the Indy Star on Sundays for the coupons recently, and once I heard about CouponMom, plus we got a 33% discount for ordering it through http://www.blogger.com/www.couponmom.com, I couldn't resist. So, Sunday begins my first official week of coupon/sale/super saving on grocery shopping. I am actually excited about getting to grocery shop, not to mention the incredible organization that will be involved when I do.

I highly recommend you check it out, too!!

I almost forgot the second best thing about this website - their restaurant links! If you click on the "Restaurant Coupons" tab, you are taken to a list of restaurants in your area participating in a fabulous deal. If you use the code "SAVE," you can buy a $25 gift certificate to any of the nice restaurants listed for just $3. It advertises the cost at $10, but using the promo cuts 7 bucks off. How great is that? Need a date night? Need an idea of where to go? Agios, Scholars Inn, 14 West and many more are your options where you spend $3 for a $25 gift certificate. I just can't get over this.

Christmas in a Nutshell

Christmas with my family consisted of dad's side, mom's side and then, of course, my parents' house. Here's a quick snapshot:

Grandpa (Santa) and Grandma Campbell-

Chris, Molly, Karen and us. Yes, Chris and Mike are holding hands.

My cousin Morgan and me.

Wittig Christmas was a quick trip to Kokomo. Here are my sweet grandparents-

And then Christmas day was spent driving from Butler to Greenfield. Then we were able to spend the afternoon, night and Friday at my parents'.
Games are a MUST around the Campbell house.
As is being ridiculous-
I had to throw in my favorite shot of mom & dad's new house... the kitchen.
And more ridiculousness.
My new prego dress!
Dad and mom with their "new grandparent" ornaments we got them. Mike & I won the contest this year and made my dad cry!
That's Christmas in a nutshell.

Baby Girl Update

It's been too long, and I'm sorry. I never even posted Christmas pictures! Life is wonderfully crazy right now, and being online at night is the last of my priorities.

But, you asked for it, you get it! Here's baby belly at 24 weeks. Yikes! In just 4 months we should be holding our sweet girl. We cannot wait. Well, in fact, we can.
(23 weeks in shirt)
I just finished registering for most of our items at Babies R Us. It was an adventurous trip with my girlfirends, Heather and Katie, who are already mommas. (photo to come) They walked me through the whole store giving advice on what they used, what they liked and what they'd never use again. I can't even begin to imagine what the day would have held if Mike and I had gone by ourselves. Needless to say, the trip was a success! I'm still trying to come up with a nursery design, so I think I'll be buying the bedding and decor myself at someplace other than big box BRU.

Which leads me to my most exciting part of the nursery, her crib!! My coworker is amazing when it comes to woodworking. As I was finding cribs online for over $1,000, I asked him what he thought about making a crib. His eyes lit up, and he said "I would LOVE to do that!" So, babygirl is going to have a custom, handmade crib to sleep her pretty little head in. Here's an idea of what he'll be creating.
Once the crib is made, Mike and I get to help finish and stain it. We're also using a piece of furniture passed down to Mike as our dresser/changing table, which Ken is going to help us refinish to match the crib.

What's new with babygirl you ask?
She is moving SO much! I feel her constantly at work. At our last check-up, the doctor had to move the doppler all over my belly to keep finding the heartbeat as she was moving. Last weekend we laid down early to read before bed, and Mike ended up getting to feel her dancing around in there for almost an hour. Maybe she'll be more coordinated than I am and be a dancer!

We go back to the doctor on Wednesday next week for our routine checkup. Then I'm off to Vegas and three weeks later, California. She's going to have momma's love for travel before she's even born.

Girl Celebrations

The night we found out that we are having a girl, we left the doctor's office to buy a bottle of sparkling grape juice to celebrate. There was already a bottle of champagne at home, compliments of the Shaver/Bishop wedding last summer. After stopping at the liquor store and CVS with no luck, we ended up at Kroger buying an assortment of appetizers to celebrate, too!
So we went home, drank our bubbly, toasted to our daughter and enjoyed our evening. It consisted of appetizers, baby Scrabble (which Mike invented requiring every word to be used in a sentence regarding a baby), reading a few letters-worth of the baby name book and catching up on our daily baby journal. It was wonderful!

Then Mark and Sonya came by with dinner and a surprise for the baby. We toasted some more with the Jameses and basked in our wonderful news. Here are a few shots from the evening...You can disregard the incredibly small words. It was just for fun. :)

IU or Yogurt?

I've been able to feel baby girl Mack move around for a few weeks now. It took me a while to realize it was her and not after-dinner bubbles. But I finally decided that was what I felt moving around every once in a while. Mostly it happens while we're sitting on the couch watching TV.

Saturday afternoon, we were watching the men's IU basketball game on the couch. I got a cup of yogurt and sat down next to Mike to watch some ball. Baby girl started moving and when I put my hand on my stomach, I felt her on the outside, too! After the second time, I had Mike try and he was able to feel her, too! What an incredible moment it was for both of us!!

So, now the question is, was it the IU Basketball or the strawberry yogurt that got her excited??
